Interesting

Trevor gets to go to the library every Tuesday in school, and then for some weird ass reason they have to bring the book back in on Wednesday... seems like they should be able to have it a little longer, but whatever.



What is interesting is his selection of books. We have had a wide array of them...



there is the typical kindergarten boy book... Biscuit. cute. readable. good starter books.



then there was the book on volcano's. can totally get it, he likes them. they talked about it in school. okay. still not very interesting or strange.



then there was the book on bikes. all kinds of bikes. motocross, choppers, crotch rockets, you name it, the book had it in there. still normal. he loves bikes. okay...



then we switched it up to All About Africa.... does the boy even know what Africa is? Nope. I read it to him, he barely paid attention, it was okay I learned a little bit anyway.



then there was the book on Running Backs. All about them, their career, what one does, and some of the famous ones of past and present. Okay. He likes football... b/c his daddy does. he wants to play football b/c his daddy does. BUT do we need to read a book about Running Backs? nope. he barely paid attention to that one either.



then there was the book on POODLES. yep. every size and style. the history of them and all that. he paid attention a little bit because he likes dogs. it was an okay book.



this week he brought home Military Vehicles and Weapons. we haven't read it yet, b/c he is off today so I'm sure we'll get to it some time today.



I'm just amazed at the variety of books he brings home. I'm glad though, it is good to broaden your horizons and what you learn about. :) He has broadened his from fictional puppies, to bikes, to running backs to Africa, to motorcycles, to Poodles, to military stuff... I wonder what he will bring home next week. :)

as I sit here, I have been debating back and forth with myself whether or not to read other people's thoughts on the Twilight movie before I wrote mine... I have decided to just write my thoughts and then go in search for what others said.

YES!! I went to see Twilight last night. I went with two of my girlfriends and we had a good night. They both enjoyed the movie, but haven't read the book. I... I did enjoy the movie, but only the ending part... and no! Not because it was ending, because that was when it felt like the actors were actually doing a good job. In the beginning of the movie, I'm not sure what was going on, but it felt like a low-budget high school play... the actors were HORRIBLE. It was like watching them try to act like actors, or something. BUT thankfully it picked up and they got better. Some parts were very dramatic and funny... in a bad acting sort of way... and some where great.

I did do a lot of comparing between the movie and the book while I watched it... which it is hard not to do... especially when the books were so freakin' awesome... but all in all the movie was good and my girlfriends said it left them wanting more... as for me I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to this, and I know there is more to the story so there will probably be more movies coming out... but I'm not sure I will be in a rush to see it the first night it out.

Also, we had to order our tickets online... it was a mob scene at the theater, and we were some of the oldest people going to see it... we were surrounded by teenie-boppers.

It was good. But it wasn't the book version.

So now I'm off to read what others thought of it.

I cannot wait!!!

Twilight!!

So....

If any of you have been wondering where I have been and why I haven't answered any questions yet. I also have been slacking on commenting lately as well... sorry.

I have been off reading. Reading what? You want to know. I have been reading...

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

I'm late on the following of the book, most people just got their hands on the fourth book in the series and here I am just drooling over the first... but I have no shame.

I would also type more but I've got to get back to my reading. I'm half way through the book and haven't been able to put it down since I started reading it... only I have to put it down some times... you know kids, dinner, house work, crap like that...

I'm off... to read!!

I love you...

When my nephew was born I got him the book... Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney. It was/is a really cute story of a mother hare and her baby talking about how much they love one another.

Since giving this book to my nephew 12+ years ago, it has become some what of a family tradition. Every child in our family since then now has the book too! I used to read it to Trevor quite a bit before he started wanting to read books with a little more story line to them... but we still enjoy it every now and then.

One thing from the book that has always stuck is a line from the book...

"I love you right up to the MOON," he said, and closed his eyes.

"Oh, that's far," said Big Nutbrown Hare. "That is very, very far."

Big Nutbrown Hare settled Little Nutbrown Hare into his bed of leaves. He leaned over and kissed him good night.

Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile, "I love you right up to the moon - AND BACK."

This one line is something I have always said to my kids... I love you to the moon and back... Trevor and I always say it to one another and we even have our own "sign language" for it too. When he gets on the bus in the morning I "sign" to him that I love him to the moon and back, and he smiles and waves to me from the bus window.

We also tell the girls that we love them to the moon and back. They have told us for a while now that they love us to the moon! They say it very excited too! And, sometimes they even point up to the sky/ceiling. :)

The other day Lauren told me...

"Mommy, I love you to the back of the moon!" :)

How sweet. Brooke is now saying the same thing. I love it.

When I told my mom she said well that is further than just to the moon. :)

Moments like these just make it so amazing to be a mom.
