~Thursday Thirteen~
~
13 things about this morning...
~
1. Trevor woke up first this morning, out of everyone in the house...
even without the use of his alarm clock.
~
2. I packed, Pringles, mini cookies, crackers & cheese, peanuts, fruit snacks, Cheese It's, Capri Sun juice, Lunchable's Jr ~ ham & cheese, peanut butter & jelly sandwich and a napkin all into one little Incredible Hulk lunch bag.
~
3. Got dressed before 10 AM without actually having to leave the house to go any where, for the first time all summer. ( I think )
~
4. Got Trevor dressed fully in only a matter of minutes, without any complaints.
(from either of us (= )
~
5. Bryan stayed home later than normal before leaving for work.
~
6. Lauren and Brooke put their shoes on, immediately after going to the potty this morning.
~
7. I brushed Trevor's hair today... not something we usually do around here, and it was in the morning, none the less.
~
8. The kids all put on chapstick. (something the girls LOVE to do, but Trevor isn't always so fond of, but he did it like a champ this morning)
~
9. Charged up the camera and took some pictures of Trevor lounging on the couch all dressed up.
~
10. We all walked out the driveway together this morning, one big ole' happy family of five.
~
11. We all stood together at the end of the driveway... waiting.
~
12. Grandma came to our house this morning too, to wait with us at the end of the driveway...
~
13. Trevor got on the bus... for his first day of KINDERGARTEN!!
~
~ Wow. I can't believe that my little boy is already on his way to start his academic years. This isn't the first time he was loaded up on the bus and taken off to school, but this is the first time he is starting KINDERGARTEN... and this came so quickly... that I can't imagine how fast the rest of school years will come. I always say that time has gone by in a blink... but I really mean that time has gone by so fast. I wish some times it would just slow down long enough to enjoy more of this great little person my son is. He has always been wonderful, of course, but he is changing every day. Getting taller, smarter, stronger... more grown up. The house is already quieter without him here today. And I already miss him terribly... and hope that he is doing okay. I'm sure my worrying is in vein, but still I worry.
~
~Bryan just called me to see how our day was going so far... to see if things were easier here with one less child... and I guess maybe they are a little easier... but that isn't what I noticed first... what I noticed first is that it is quieter, too quiet... no little boy bike noises or laughter... and it is one less seat filled at the table for breakfast, one less little warm spot on the couch from where a little tushy was sitting to watch morning cartoons. One less.
~
~I'm not missing him to the point of crying... but just really thinking of him and wondering how things are going for him this morning. It's his first day and he is all alone. He doesn't have his Mommy or Daddy there to hold his hand and walk him to his classroom, he has to ask someone else how to get there. :( That sort of breaks my heart.... I should have driven him to school, but he wanted to take the bus. I'm sure he will find his way, I'm sure the school is prepared to help all the kids to their classes, especially the younger ones and kindergartners. I just worry. I know when I was 4-almost-5 I would have been upset to feel lost and not know who to ask where I could find my class... but Trevor is different. He is braver, more outgoing and not really shy at all and confident, I know that he will be fine.
~
~ By now, he is in his classroom (I'm hoping... because that means that he isn't lost), they have said the pledge of allegiance, and heard the morning announcements... and are I guess, maybe, trying to meet everyone and meet their teacher and their aid, and all that... get used to the classroom and where everything is and how some things will go.
~
~ Sometime today he will also go eat in the cafeteria for the first time ever. I'm sort of nervous about this also... will they pay attention to him and what he is doing and if he eats enough or eats at all. Also, I'm concerned about if he can open everything himself or if he'll need some help. I'm sure that since they are little kindergartners, they have some one watching over them to make sure all these things go smoothly and again that I'm worrying for no reason... but still I'm his mom, I'm supposed to worry.
~
~ Well Lauren & Brooke have out about 20+ books for me to read to them, so while it is nice and quiet here and they are interested I'm going to go read them a few books, we'll see how many we actually get through. ;)
~
*If I have some time later I will give an update of how Trevor's FIRST day went.

~thursday thirteen~
thirteen candle scents that i really wish they would make
1. fresh paint smell ~ make your house smell almost brand new!
~
2. new carpet smell ~ you know how good your house smells with new carpet!
~
3. New clothes smell, almost like a store smell, but just the smell of the clothing!
~
4. vinyl ~ like a new shower curtain or a new baby doll!
~
5. baby's breath... like real baby's breath, not the flower filler stuff, like my babies when they were little, and even now to be honest, I just love the smell of their sweet little breaths!
~
6. Tide laundry detergent! so fresh n' clean
~
7. the way it smells outside first thing in the morning, as it is starting to get warm out, after it had rained all night.
~
8. gasoline smell, but not real gasoline smell, but the faint whiff you get when you are in the car with the windows up and someone that just pumped it opens the door to get in the car... that little tiny whiff of it you get... in a candle.
~
9. fresh cut grass! Yummy! Nothing says nice summer days better than the smell of a freshly cut lawn.
~
10. museum ~ you know the smell... you like it too!
~
11. library ~similar to museum, but a little different~ when I was in school from 6th-12th grade I sat behind a girl, that i was also friends with, in homeroom that always smelt like a library/museum.
~
12. the aquarium, sort of like bleach or chlorine, but mixed with the museum scent too.
~
13. BACON ~ cooked of course!
~
so there you have it! no one said these were going to be top sellers, but honestly you all know you agree with some of them... let me know which ones you would be interested in having...
happy TT.

Thursday Thirteen!

Thirteen Things that SUCK!!!
  1. Today is the first day of Spring.. yeah right!! It snowed/flurried all day long!!
  2. it was cold and windy today.
  3. our truck has a nail in the tire!
  4. the tire will probably go flat when we drive it any where.
  5. we need to/have to get 4 new tires for the truck.
  6. our house is acting up.
  7. our toilet, shower, and sinks are all backed up.
  8. we think we need something done to our septic tank! YUCK!!
  9. Zoe pooped in her cage, it was all over her, her blankets and her pillow! Yuckity Yuck Yuck!
  10. I'm still stuffed up and not feeling 100%!
  11. Bryan's grandfather made it through the heart surgery did GREAT... it was yesterday! They replaced 3 valves in his heart and closed him up, happy with the surgery. What they thought was a blood clot is nothing to be concerned about. Thank God!! He woke up this morning on his own and they took him off all the breathing stuff, he did fine.. and is breathing wonderfully on his own!! He has a superbug, one that is totally resistant to all and ANY antibiotics and/or medications. The CDC is there, they are "studying" him. They have no idea how long he will live, if he can beat this or not.
  12. the "superbug" is in his bladder and urine.
  13. if the "superbug" goes to his heart he will die immediately!!!

WTF???????????? makes it through surgery fine... then gets some shit that hardly anyone has ever had, they have no effing clue where it comes from and it is freakin' invincible to everything known to man... GREAT. I swear just when you see the damn silver lining you get struck with effing lightening and die anyway...

although i'm obnoxious, grumpy and sick of bad news, and just feel like saying EFF it! this isn't my life and I can't really feel that way for Bryan's grandfather... I want for him to get better and be able to come home... that is all the man wants is to be able to go home. he has been in the hospital for 9 effing weeks. he thinks he will die there, and by the looks of the shitty ass things, he might... how effing horrible and heartbreaking is that??? dammit.

so since tomorrow is Good Friday I'm really hoping and praying, practically begging that something GOOD will come from it and that Bryan's grandfather will have some miracle that will make him all better and HEALTHY! That the superbug will just die and go away.

Please keep Bryan and his grandfather in your thoughts and prayers. thank you.

(sorry for being so bitchy)

Thursday Thirteen Second Post for Today... check out my other one too! :)

thirteen random things...
because I have no idea what to do my TT about today
and really want to do one just to do it,
but don't feel like coming up with an idea.
  1. My house is pretty warm inside today... seems like a while since I was actually REALLY warm in the house. I hope this is a sign that WARMER weather is coming soon!
  2. I'm really, very happy about Daylights Savings Time, it makes the days so much longer and brighter and really happier around here and I don't mean to bitch and complain but now I cannot wait for green grass and sunshine all day!!
  3. Brooke & Lauren will NOT stay out of the bathroom! They are continually in there **"Washing their hands" which is code for MAKING A MESS & USING UP ALL THE SOAP!!!
  4. I have kindergarten registration for Trevor today, which makes it seem a little more real that he will actually be going to kindergarten in the Fall. When did this happen?
  5. When I say When did this happen? I really want to know when this happened. I cannot even begin to fathom the idea that my little boy is going to be 5 and go to kindergarten. I honestly feel like I"m making it all up just to have something to talk about, but it is real. wow
  6. I have a little over an hour until I have to leave to register Trevor for kindergarten, so I should get up and start getting the girls and myself ready to go.
  7. The sun just came out and it looks so nice out, well at least the sunshine does, the barren trees, dead grass and dirty snow looks horribly depressing.
  8. Lauren and Brooke are in the living room singing and dancing to Ring Around the Rosie, but all they sing is ashes ashes ashes ashes ashes ashes ashes ashes ashes ashes ashes, we all fall down then they start over again with ashes. Pretty cute!!
  9. Trevor took the bus into school this morning, first time this week. He said he had to ride the bus because he knew that Stella (his bus driver) really really missed him a lot.
  10. I think I might kidnap Trevor from school after I'm done with my appointment there. Hey, I'll be there already and plus it will save me a trip there later. And most important I'll have my boy home with me. :)
  11. Brooke & Lauren both always really want to get into the dog crate, and play, but it is gross in there, although she doesn't mess in there any more and I clean it regularly, it is still a Dog Crate. Gross!!!
  12. I actually hung up some clothes on the new bar Bryan made for me in the "closet" in my room today, although it has been up for about 2 weeks. I know I'm on the ball aren't I?
  13. I'm actually going to get up from the computer and walk away after I type this last line and hit "Publish Post" and get things ready for us to leave.

Thursday Thirteen ~ for the 2nd time today!

Here are 13 random things I thought I would share:
1. Bryan's grandfather is not doing well at all. He was moved from the hospital to a nursing home, while waiting for him to get stronger, and for a blood clot to dissolve from in his heart before doing the heart surgery. While at the nursing home his health deteriorated greatly, he has a horrible infection, and is now back in the hospital in Spring Valley, but this time in the ER. Not sure why they ever had him go to a nursing home to begin with.
The most recent update is that they are going to treat the infection he has,
and then send him home. He will never be strong enough, or healthy enough to have the surgery. This sucks!!
2. Bryan is back to being grumpy with me again. This tells me he is worried and upset.
3. I don't know what to say or do to make Bryan feel better.
4. There is little to say or to do to make a situation like this better, if there is even a "better" during a time like this.
5. I'm confused as to why no one questioned, and or protested him leaving the hospital in the first place. He seemed to be doing a little bit better.
6. Hospitals and doctors suck sometimes! Not always and I am appreciative for them both, but sometimes things just suck!! I'm also sure that this isn't really the doctors the the hospitals fault, but it just feels better to say that.
7. At least Drew will get to go home, he thought he wouldn't ever leave the hospital.
8. Family heart disease scares the SHIT out of me.
9. I hope that Bryan can get his health under better control.
10. I've been through too much death to watch someone else die, I want to be there for everyone, but I also want to just run away from it too.
11. I hate nursing homes, but I'm sad that we didn't' get to see him while he was there, it would have been one more time to get to see him.
12. I don't want to have to tell my kids about their great-grandpa, or talk to them about sickness and dying.
13. I'm hoping and praying for a miracle that he will some how pull through, get strong and be able to have his surgery, then that he will be happy and healthy and we can all breath easier.

Thursday Thirteen!

Today is Thursday right?? I'm loosing track of my days here! ; )

THURSDAY THIRTEEN!
~Thirteen things I can't wait for~
1. I can't wait for Day Lights Saving Time to come!! I think that will make me feel a lot better and help with feeling like there aren't enough hours in the days, and days in the week to get things done.
2. I can't wait for warm weather to come. The snow the other day was quite impressive and in a way beautiful, but it was over 12" in two days... I don't want to see any more!
3. I can't wait till we don't need to put 3-5 layers of clothing on to go outside or to do anything. Sleigh riding has been fun, but I'm sick of dressing my kids and myself for the Arctic every time we think about leaving the house.
4. I can't wait for me to have more ambition and energy to train myself with taking the girls to the potty ~ they are both ready, it is just me. I guess stripping off 4 layers every time I take them to the bathroom, then having to redress them again in the 4 layers is what is making me lazy about it all.
5. I can't wait to go on vacation. Some where. Any where! I can't wait to pack! I can't wait to be away from the every day grind.
6. I can't wait to loose some weight. Although I haven't been doing much about this, well that is a understatement actually I haven't been doing anything at all to help loose weight. But I still can't wait for it to go away! ;)
7. I can't wait till we can be outside all day long, every day. Have camp fires, roast marsh mellows, barbecue, eat outside, go to the lake, set up the pool, ride bikes, go for walks, open the windows and smell nice fresh air all the time.
8. I can't wait for things to just get better for everyone. It seems like everyone around me has something going on with them that just isn't going 100% for them right now.
9. I can't wait for Easter egg coloring. Everyone is always together and happy! The kids have a blast and get all messy! And we have a ton of eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide. ~ it also makes it seem like Spring is really going to come!
10. I can't wait to live in a different house. Although I'm not really sure when this will happen. I'm anxious to think about moving and living some where new/different. We have outgrown this house, and we don't own it.
11. I can't wait to win the lotto and not worry about bills ever again! ~ okay this one is a little out of reach, I don't even play the lotto... but a girl can dream.
12. I can't wait to one day go on a cruise. I have never been on one, and think it will be so much fun, and such a great experience for the entire family!
13. I can't wait to take the kids to Disney World, when they are a little bit older, like in 2 years or so, and watch their faces light up in amazement! I know they will LOVE it!!
There are at least another 26 things I can't wait for, but since it is Thursday Thirteen I'll leave you all with this list. :)
Have a wonderful day!!

Thursday Thirteen!

Thirteen Places I LOVE to Eat!

This isn't hard for me, since I LOVE to eat in general, and will eat
just about anything. Sad, I know. But, it's true.

1. Mexican Restaurant ~ not so sure of the name, but I LOVE it!! I went there for a goodbye from work party when I was pregnant with Trevor and leaving work to stay home with him... YUM! We also went there for my bachlorette dinner before going out to party! The food there is just amazing!!

2. Taco Bell ~ not quite the same as true Mexican food, but I still am shamelessly in love with Taco Bell!! Love it so much, that I order like $20 of food just for me. ;) Okay, well maybe not $20... maybe only like $17. lol Love, love, love it!!

3. Red Lobster ~ yummo! My mom, Trevor and I use to frequent Red Lobster when I first had him and was home. My mom would be off on Friday's so we would take a trip to Middletown once in a while and we would hit up Red Lobster! Sometimes we would take my dad too! Red Lobster is the first restaurant that Trevor was ever in, and he was only a few weeks old when he went.

    4. Gray's Papaya! Wow! They make the most slammin' hot dogs EVAH!! I love hotdogs anyway... but these are out of this world!! One time, Heather, Liz and I drove into the city just to have a hot dog from Gray's! They are that good!

5. Ruby Tuesday's! Love the food there, and usually the service is just as good! We have gone there a bunch of times with a lot of people and have never had a problem with service. This is the first place that Bryan and I went out to eat together. :)

6. Chinese restaurants! Love Chinese food! I could eat this almost Every. Single. Day! But it is really fattening... at least what I eat is, and then in a little while I'm always hungry again. But, I still love it!

7. Shoney's! We go here when we are on vacation!! There isn't any that close to us, so we take advantage of it when we are further south. We go almost every morning to have breakfast there! I love breakfast food!! :)

8. Chili's is chillin'! I love the food there, they have the best soups! They have just the right amount of spicy kick to make them so good!! I love spicy food, but only to a certain extent. I want to still enjoy my food and be able to taste what I'm eating and not just the spices! Chili's gets it just right!!

9. The Cornucopia restaurant! When I worked in Orange County we would always go there for everyone's birthday, the bosses' treat! They had some of the BEST food there! This was the first place I had escargot and it was delicious!!

10. Italian restaurants! Love them! Love Italian food! I could really eat Italian food every. single. day!! I love love love it!! Yummy!! I love pasta and the sauces and the breads and the wine!! :) Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!!

11. Giovanni's ~ Home of the God Father! I love LOVE LOVE love Italian sub sandwiches!! I am actually going to call Bryan and see if he can please bring me home a sub tonight for dinner! Yum! ;)

12. Subway ~ I love the sandwiches that they warm up for you and have the melty good cheese on them! Can't beat that!!

13. I love these three all the same as the ones I listed above and since this is Thursday Thirteen I am listing them together... lol These three places all are very different in food choices, but they are all the same with AWESOME food and great service!

Okay I have to go eat something now... I'm starving, and it has taken me wayyyy too long to do this!! :P

Thursday Thirteen!

Thirteen Things that Makes me NUTS!!
  1. Two 2 yr olds crying and whining at me all day long! And for. NO.APPARENT. REASON. WHAT-SO-EVER!
  2. Telling my kids, please pick up you toys about 7 times in a row. Then picking them up myself to save the hassle, going to get the vacuum and come back to the same mess that I. JUST. PICKED. UP. 2. FREAKIN'. MINUTES. AGO!!
  3. My husband calling me just to say hi, then being annoyed at me for being annoyed with the kids and venting to him. He didn't want to hear it. (boo hoo for you! too freakin' bad!)
  4. My husband having the balls to say I'm in a bad mood... well no freakin' shit. I know I'm in a bad mood... that isn't earth shattering news! duh!
  5. My girls haven't had an accident in two whole days in their pull-ups, not ONE... but today in their new underpants, they have each had THREE! Yes! 3! WTH??
  6. Not being able to tell the girls how frustrated I am that they don't pee their pull up AT ALL, but they are peeing their underpants! (can't really scold them, they are only 2 and just learning... but still frustrating for mom!)
  7. That the dog was out for 10-15 minutes then came in and within a minute peed on the carpet by the door.
  8. Whining kids! My kids have lost all ability to speak today and all they can do is whine at me. I. AM. LOOSING. MY. EFING. MIND!
  9. Having a ton of house work to do while the kiddos nap!
  10. STUPID PEOPLE! & BAD DRIVERS!
  11. My inability to stay calm and not get so frustrated and annoyed b/c my kids are cranky today. Really. I should just get a grip. It is making me nuts that I can't even handle a rough day with my kids. I should be able to figure them out by now and know what to do to make them happy. UHH!!
  12. My kids DO NOT (not at all, not even a little bit) act like this for my husband.
  13. This Winter weather!! I have had enough!! Today, okay yeah. today is alright out.. the sun is shining and it isn't so unbearably cold out that you can't even breath b/c your nostrils freeze shut... but that is ONLY today... tonight or tomorrow some freakin' time we are gong to get SLEET, FREEZING RAIN and snowy mixture or some crap! Totally NOT in the efing mood for that shit!!
  14. I could con't on... but really this is getting quite bitchy and it is ONLY Thursday 13!! I've already over done it!! oops!!

Thursday Thirteen!

( My 2nd Thursday Thirteen!)
Thirteen Things I LOVE about my kids!
  1. I love their breath! They all still have that sweet baby breath. Even Trevor who is 4 has it and the girls have it even though they suck a binky sometimes. hmmm... I just love it.
  2. I love the way their eyes and entire face lights up when they smile.
  3. I love how imaginative and creative they all are!
  4. I love how loving and affectionate they all are. They are that way with me and their father and they are that way with each other and other family members and close friends, they are always ready for a hug and/or kiss.
  5. I love how they love one another... a bond like no other with siblings.
  6. I love how they still need me so much and want me to be part of EVERYTHING they do. I'm aware of the fact that one day this will not be the case. I will then be heart broken and in need of medication and therapy.
  7. I love how forgiving they are. They forgive me for not being a perfect mother, and they are pretty forgiving of one another too!
  8. I love how every day they grow and change and amaze me. I fall in-love with them more and more Every. Single.Day!
  9. I love how happy they are. So carefree and loving life!
  10. I love how a kiss from Mommy or Daddy can make a bump or a boo boo go away just like magic... I hope that life can be that simple for them for a long time!
  11. I love how perfectly their little hand fits right into mine whenever we walk any where.
  12. I love how they all wait outside the bathroom door for me, if I manage to get in there without them... like they haven't seen me in years... and they all hug me like I was gone forever and not 2 mins.
  13. I love EVERY. SINGLE. SOLITARY. THING. about my children. From their beautiful smiles and cuteness to their runny noses and pouting little faces, to their chubby "baby" fingers still to their knobby little knees, their soft baby fine hair to their little button nose and cute little chin, I love their pudgy little feet that sometimes smell like corn chips to their little or not so little temper tantrums, to how hard they can make us laugh and how silly they are. I love how they dance and sing and are so happy to just be. I love the way the say words in their own way, and I love the way they trust so sincerely and love so true and are so honest, Innocent and pure. They are truly amazing little miracles.

Another first for me...

My first offical Thursday Thirteen! As I type all this I don't even have a clue what the hell I'm going to make my TT about. Maybe I will make it about my kids... maybe not. Maybe I can make it about 13 things that I will then make my next TT's about. :) By George I think she's got it. That is what I will make this TT about... damn I'm good!! Just so freakin' good!

List of the Next 13 Thursday Thirteen's!

  1. 13 Things I LOVE about my kids
  2. 13 Things I LOVE about being a SAHM
  3. 13 Places I LOVE to eat at
  4. 13 Place I want to visit/vacation
  5. 13 Places I have vacationed/been
  6. 13 Reasons I need to loose weight
  7. 13 Places I want to go this summer
  8. 13 Facts about 2 year olds
  9. 13 Facts about 4 year olds
  10. 13 Home Improvements I want to make in 2008

So there you have it... my first TT and a lame one at that... and a lame list of things to do more lame posts about!! lol

I might have something more inspiring to say later... I doubt it. But, maybe. Don't hold your breath or anything, but I might be back.

Peace
