Turkey!!
~Happy Thanksgiving!~
I hope that everyone has a wonderful day filled with lots of family, love, health, joy, laughter, food and drink! :)
Bryan is off hunting this morning... and I'm hoping that he (finally) gets a deer. It has been a LONG hunting season. :S
The kids and I are up and working towards getting ready for breakfast and then getting ready to go to my parents house... we are even getting chauffeured, which is very nice. My Dad will be picking us up. :)
Last night I went over to their (my parents house) to help work on food prep for today. We made the coleslaw, the sweet potatoes, peeled the white potatoes, veggie platter and stuffed celery, my mom also baked two pumpkin pies. She usually does a lot of the work, if not all, by herself, which sucks. I feel like it should be a group effort since we all enjoy eating, we should help prepare it. So today when we go over I'll try to help with other food prepping as much as I can.
On another note... there are many things I'm thankful for, and not just today, always.
Here are a few of them:
- My children
- my parents
- Bryan
- my family ~ all of it
- my friends
- our health ~ may not be the best, but we are working on it
- being able to be a SAHM (stay at home mom)
- being able to share this holiday with my family
- laughter
- forgiveness
- help from family & friends
- love
- blogging & all my wonderful friends here
- lower gas prices (NOT even kidding)
Some things that Brooke is thankful for
- books
- Trevor & Lauren
- Zoe & Nalla
- Mommy & Daddy
- her favorite book ~ Very Hungry Caterpillar
- pumas
Some things that Lauren is thankful for
- toys
- Brooke & Trevor
- Santa
- Mommy & Daddy
- Diego
- books
Some things that Trevor is thankful for
- Zoe
- Mommy
- Daddy
- Grandma
- Grandpa
- my friends
- books
- toys
- my teachers
- my home
- my room
- my cat Nalla
- my cousins
- my baseball stuff
- the earth
I love all their answers!!
I think they each did a good job expressing what they are thankful for. I did ask the girls "What makes you happy?" instead of what are you thankful for... I think it was easier for them to answer that way. Trevor, though, I asked him what he was thankful for because they have been talking about it in school.

post 493
as I sit here, I have been debating back and forth with myself whether or not to read other people's thoughts on the Twilight movie before I wrote mine... I have decided to just write my thoughts and then go in search for what others said.
YES!! I went to see Twilight last night. I went with two of my girlfriends and we had a good night. They both enjoyed the movie, but haven't read the book. I... I did enjoy the movie, but only the ending part... and no! Not because it was ending, because that was when it felt like the actors were actually doing a good job. In the beginning of the movie, I'm not sure what was going on, but it felt like a low-budget high school play... the actors were HORRIBLE. It was like watching them try to act like actors, or something. BUT thankfully it picked up and they got better. Some parts were very dramatic and funny... in a bad acting sort of way... and some where great.
I did do a lot of comparing between the movie and the book while I watched it... which it is hard not to do... especially when the books were so freakin' awesome... but all in all the movie was good and my girlfriends said it left them wanting more... as for me I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to this, and I know there is more to the story so there will probably be more movies coming out... but I'm not sure I will be in a rush to see it the first night it out.
Also, we had to order our tickets online... it was a mob scene at the theater, and we were some of the oldest people going to see it... we were surrounded by teenie-boppers.
It was good. But it wasn't the book version.
So now I'm off to read what others thought of it.

*gasp*
These are shelves or built in book case that are on the way down the stairs. The stairs are split, which makes me happy b/c then I think the kids will get less hurt when they fall down them... and I did say WHEN because I think it is inevitable that they will... although I hope I'm wrong.
This picture also shows the paneling that is in the living room, since the stairs come up in the living room. I'm not crazy at all about paneling, BUT for some reason this is growing on me. I don't mind it so much. And that is good b/c it will be staying for a while till we can replace it with sheetrock... and we will also cut a window or two into the living room, where there aren't any. Only one at the top of the stairs, but that isn't in the living room really.
Here are the first set of stairs that head down to the lower level. I love that they are open. It makes it look really nice and it doesn't seem to take up as much space as if they were were all closed in. I love the stairs. :)
This pictures is a little dark, sorry. And I'm too lazy to try to fix it for you all. BUT this is our fire place... the thing that is in the front will come out and a gas insert will replace it. It will look just like burning logs, only we will just flip a switch to turn it on!! :) I love the fire place too. It needs some TLC but not any replacing or renovations. :)
This is the play room. It is a HUGE room! What you are seeing is about 3/4 of it... so this will work PERFECTLY for all the kids toys! I'm so excited to have a playroom again, and also this could be doubled for people to say over when we have our big New Years Party or other parties when people stay over. :) I love all the windows in it and it opens up the back deck. :)
(we are also going to make the back deck bigger, even if we don't wrap it around the front of the house)
I will post some more pictures when I get back over there to take some... I have mostly been focusing on taking pictures of the demo work downstairs. Ripping out walls and insulation and all that... But I will get more pictures of the house to post. Tomorrow I think we will all be over there working/cleaning and hanging out. Trevor is off from school so we can spend the entire day!! :)

Your thoughts...
Hi ya'll. It is almost 4th of July!! yay!!
I just wanted to wish everyone a great weekend... be safe and have a good time. But while we are all partying and celebrating please keep my mom in your thoughts for a quick and speedy recovery... you can read the posts below for more info and also please keep Jenn in your thoughts and prayers.
You can jump over to her blog... Enjoying the Ride for some info on her. She is going in for a breast reduction on Monday morning. She is nervous, to say the least... and really who wouldn't be? I know I sure as hell would be... especially since I'm only a C cup now... gosh!! lol Just kidding... well I'm not really kidding about any of it... but I would be very nervous as well for all the same reasons Jenn is. Since just going through a surgery with my mom, I totally feel for Jenn, and I'm concerned and nervous for her too. (although I know she will be just fine!)
Jenn is such a sweetie... so if you would please pray for her and her family as she has surgery on Monday that she will be okay through out the day and respond well to everything. All thoughts and well wishes can be left here I will forward them to Jenn or you can go right on over and leave her a comment or two... she doesn't bite, I promise!!
Thank you for all your support!!
xxoo
